Why estimated weight matters
Aluminum is sold by piece, sheet, plate, bar length or ton depending on the product and market. Even before final weighing, a dimensional estimate helps align quotation quantity, packing plan and freight mode.
The basic formula
For sheet and plate, the calculation uses thickness, width, length, quantity and alloy density. For bar, the shape affects the cross-sectional area.
| Form | Inputs | Planning use |
|---|---|---|
| Sheet / plate | Thickness, width, length, quantity | Bundle weight and packing |
| Round bar | Diameter, length, quantity | Bundle and pallet planning |
| Flat bar | Thickness, width, length, quantity | Cutting and freight estimate |
Calculator output is an estimate. Final shipment weight depends on tolerance, cutting loss, packing material and actual scale weight.
