Match the certificate to the vessel requirement

DNV, BV, ABS and Lloyd's Register are not interchangeable on every project. The buyer should confirm the required classification society with the shipyard, designer or end client before ordering.

What to check

  • Alloy and temper, such as 5083-H116
  • Plate thickness and heat or batch number
  • Mechanical properties and chemical composition
  • Inspection scope, including UT if required
  • Certificate issuer and project requirement match
A certificate is only useful when it corresponds to the delivered batch and the required project standard.
