How Aluminum Sheet Is Made: From Ingot to Your Door
A quick overview of the 6-step manufacturing process that ensures consistent quality in every sheet we deliver.
Casting
Molten aluminum is cast into large ingots or continuous cast slabs weighing up to 20 tons.
Hot Rolling
Ingots are heated to 400-500°C and rolled down from 600mm to 6mm through multiple passes.
Cold Rolling
Further reduction at room temperature to achieve precise thickness (0.2-6mm) and surface finish.
Annealing
Heat treatment to restore ductility or achieve target temper (O, H, or T designation).
Slitting & Cutting
Sheet is cut to customer specifications — width, length, and shape with tight tolerances.
Surface Treatment
Optional anodizing, embossing, coating, or mirror polishing based on order requirements.
Aluminum Sheet by Alloy Series
Select from 7 alloy families to find the exact grade for your application, from pure aluminum to high-strength aerospace alloys.
1xxx Series — Pure Aluminum
2xxx Series — Copper Alloy
3xxx Series — Manganese Alloy
5xxx Series — Magnesium Alloy

ExploreHow to Choose the Right Aluminum Sheet in 5 Steps
Follow this decision framework to narrow down the perfect alloy, temper, and size for your project.
Define Your Application
Start with the end use. Different applications prioritize different properties — marine environments need corrosion resistance, aerospace needs strength-to-weight ratio, packaging needs formability.
Choose the Right Alloy Series
Each alloy series has distinct characteristics. Need strength? Look at 5xxx/7xxx. Need formability? 1xxx/3xxx. Need heat-treatability and versatility? 6xxx is your answer.
Select the Temper
O = Annealed (softest, maximum formability). H = Strain hardened (H14/H22/H32 — progressively harder). T = Heat treated (T4/T6 — highest strength). Match temper to your fabrication process.
Determine Thickness & Size
Aluminum sheet ranges from 0.2 mm to 6.0 mm (above 6 mm is classified as plate). Consider your structural requirements, weight constraints, and fabrication method. Custom widths up to 2,500 mm and lengths up to 12,000 mm available.
